FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) _ Cincinnati Financial Corp. (CINF) on Wednesday reported a second-quarter loss of $808 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Fairfield, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of $5.06. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to 65 cents per share.

The insurer posted revenue of $820 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $1.97 billion.
